Why fingerprint children?
According to the FBI's National Crime Information Center, 80% of the approximately 822,000 people reported missing to US law enforcement agencies in 2002 were juveniles.
Research has also shown that it is critical for parents and police to have fingerprints, vital statistics, and a current photo on hand to use for comparison when a missing child is believed found.
Taking action now could save you precious time later in the event of an emergency. If a child is missing, law enforcement agencies will need an immediate and accurate detailed description of a child and a quick and easy way to identify them. Law enforcement and others need proper identification before they can take action. The child's I.D. kit will be key to providing a positive identification. A Child I.D. is the answer.
What is involved in the process?
The process takes about 5 minutes per child. We begin by having parents/guardians fill out information sheets about the children. Then we will enter the information into our computer. We will take each child's fingerprint as well as a photo. In a few minutes you will receive the Child I.D. kit.
What is included in the Child I.D. kit?
You will receive a hard copy of each child's fingerprints along with a printout of all his/her vital information. You can have as much, or as little information on the printout as you want. You tell us what information to include on the hard copy.
You will also receive two I.D. cards, each with the child's photo, a thumbprint, and vital information included on the card.
Where do I go to get children fingerprinted?
We are located in Ventura, California. Our address is 4587 Telephone Rd., upstairs in Suite 205. We are available by appointment for groups of 15 or more kids. Our company is available on a mobile basis on weekends. If you have 15 or more kids that need to be fingerprinted, we can come to you! We do carnivals, fairs, parties, and any other type of social gathering. Our goal is to make sure that as many children have Child I.D.s as possible. We want to give parents peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, law enforcement agencies will have the necessary information to help locate that child.
How much does it cost?
Each Child I.D. kit will cost $20. Additional I.D. cards will cost $5.
